Dinghy Instructor Course
The next course is Thursday 28th June - Monday 2nd July 2012
Price for 5 day course is £280 (including final assessment)
Our dinghy coaching courses are very popular. We have a wealth of experience in running all levels of dinghy sailing programs. With this experience, our RYA Coaches ensure you get the very best instructor training.
We also offer a 2 day course to enable you to hone your skills prior to taking the Pre-Entry Assessment. Please contact us for details.
This course is five days of intensive but enjoyable training in all aspects of teaching beginners and improvers to sail, including moderation by another coach at the end of the course. Our coaches will make sure you pick up top tips and new ideas. Please make sure you have read a current copy of G14, G4 and G11 before the course and remember to bring these with you. (Available from RYA website www.rya.org.uk)
Pre-Assessment Dinghy Instructor
All candidates for Dinghy Instructor must pass this practical sailing test prior to attending the Dinghy Instructor course. Should you require the 2 days Pre-Assessment training course the outline of the course is as follows:
The first day will be spent on practising and improving skills so that you should be able to complete the pre-entry assessment on the second day, weather permitting. An optimum wind strength of 11 knots to undertake the assessment is required.
Should you require to go straight for the Pre-Assessment, this will take half a day.
Please contact us for prices.

This 4 day course marks the transition from managing your own boat to that of being a 'fleet manager'. The senior instructor course concentrates primarily on on-the-water issues and is practically orientated. Mylor Sailing School is the perfect venue, due to its superb location in the Carrick Roads and wide variety of courses and equipment.
The course includes supervising instructors under your control, practical teaching afloat, fleet management, running shore-based sessions, customer liaison and group discussions under the guidance of one of our very experienced dinghy coach-assessors. Continuous assessment (in a relaxed atmosphere) is based on your ability to plan, organise and run practical sessions, construct course programmes, manage instructors under your supervision and give your input to shore-based sessions.
